St. Louis City Museum, IKEA and the new Hofbrauhaus
This trip involves visiting the St. Louis City Museum. The museum is housed in the former home of the 10-story International Shoe Company. The sprawling 600,000 square-foot City Museum in St. Louis is quite possibly the most ultimate urban playground ever constructed. The museum is the brainchild of artist and sculptor Bob Cassilly who opened the space in 1997 after years of renovation and construction. The classically-trained sculptor set out to make a funhouse for young and old out of unique, reclaimed objects found within the city’s municipal borders. The second stop on this trip is a visit to the Urban Chestnut Brewery in St Louis, located at 4465 Manchester Avenue, for German food and German beer. The third stop on this trip is a tip to IKEA. For those of you who do not want to shop at IKEA, a trip to a nearby bar is an option.
